Void #2 – by Toby Zallman (Photo: Jyoti Srivastava)

Invoking the Absence, was a juried exhibition sponsored by Chicago Sculpture International, featuring the artwork of 22 Chicago-based artists playing with the notions of void and its existence in space, time, order, abstraction and conflict. Situated in the Beaux-Arts style domed structure of the Elks National Memorial, the exhibit works to call attention to the limitless vacuum that exists, creating a dialogue that conjures feelings and exchanges of emotion and/or validation of emptiness that is truly present.
